Economist, Parent, Community Leader - The Experience our County Needs for Tough Times

Thank You for Your Interest in My Campaign!

Montgomery County is a large and diverse place. Within our borders exist some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the nation, yet we also have neighborhoods facing severe effects of the economic downturn. Our county government is challenged, in a time of diminishing resources, to meet the needs of ALL our citizens.

When I decided to run for County Council-At-Large, I felt that with a doctorate in economics, four children educated in our public schools, and years of service to our community, I offered a unique set of skills to help resolve the tough problems faced by County government today and in the years to come.

My vision for Montgomery County is of a place where we make smart decisions, support safe and vibrant neighborhoods, and foster sustainable economic growth--all with a goal of improving our quality of life and the effective delivery of county services.  My priorities as Councilmember will be:

    • Working to strengthen our economic base to provide the jobs and businesses
      that sustain our community
    • Making sure that Montgomery County is prepared for the evolving challenges
      of the 21st Century workplace
    • Finding creative and “green” solutions to traffic gridlock
    • Being smarter in how we utilize the county’s limited resources, being mindful of
      our changing demographic
    • Safeguarding schools to provide a world class education for all our children

Please take a moment to review my qualifications and to read more about my ideas to improve the quality of life for our residents—now and in the future. Also, please feel free to contact me with your ideas and suggestions.

I would very much appreciate your support this September!

Sincerely,

Jane
